HYGIENE OPERATIVE

About the role:

This is a hands-on, full-time hygiene operative role in our bakery. You’ll be part of our hygiene team, keeping our equipment, production areas and facilities clean and sanitised to the highest standards. No weekend work is required, but optional overtime is available when required and paid at time and at a half-enhanced rate.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Following the weekly cleaning schedule and keeping cleaning records accurate and up to date
  • Cleaning and sanitising equipment, utensils and work areas, and removing waste as required
  • Keeping all areas of the site, including production areas and offices, clean and hygienic 
  • Using cleaning chemicals and PPE correctly, and keeping hygiene supplies stocked 
  • Completing actions from hygiene audits as directed by the Technical team 
  • Following HACCP, food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures at all times
  • Reporting any issues or non-conformances to your Line manager 
  • Supporting the bakery team in other areas when required

What you bring:

  • Cleaning experience in a food production or manufacturing environment is preferred 
  • A good understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices (awareness of HACCP and BRC is a bonus) 
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
  • Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions, working on your own or as part of a team 
  • A good attitude and willingness to get stuck in

Hourly rate: £12.75 per hour, monthly pay (optional overtime paid at time and a half)

Working arrangements: Monday – Friday, 2pm – 10pm, fully onsite

Job types: Full-time, permanent, on-site in Bishop’s Cleeve
